Button Exchange

2015 / one button, red thread, needle, scissors, passers-by.

  1. It started at Ted Active conference in Whistler in 2015. I cut a button from the shirt I was wearing, and sewed it to the shirt of another person who I can across in place of one of their functioning buttons which I cut off and sewed onto the shirt of the next person after cutting off one of their buttons and sewing that onto the next person’s shirt, etc.

  2. It happened again at LePlateau, in Paris where gallery staff carried out the process with museum visitors.
